Procedure: The products Castrol RX Super, Chesterton 652 Pneumatic Lubricant and Conditioner, Clayhill Synthetic Compressor Lubricant, Fiske Brothers Refining Company Lubriplate Super Lubrication, Mobil 600W Super Cylinder Oil, Mobil GEA 627 Lubricating Oil, Mobil Gear 629 Lubricating Oil, Mobil Vacuum Pump Oil, Texaco ATF Mercon/Dexron, Texaco Regal R&O, and United Lubricants Premium Industrial Hydraulic Oil were each combined six different Cortec
products. These products were M-238, VpCI™-326, VpCI™-322, VpCI™-323, M-320 and M-529. Each additive was used in the concentration of 2% by weight. These mixtures were heated in an 82° C oven for 18 hours and cooled in a refrigerator for 8 hours. This procedure was repeated for 3 days or 72 hours. At the end of the 72-hour period, the samples were evaluated for any visible separation.
