PRODUCT NEWS RELEASE
Gear Oil Offers Continuous Protection
For Online and Offline Equipment
A new gear oil called Cortec® CorrLube
has been specially formulated with patented Cortec® VpCI Technology
for heavy duty applications and continuous corrosion protection
of equipment during online operation and offline shutdown. Its unique
corrosion protection means that during intermittent shutdown periods
of one month to one year, oil does not need to be drained from equipment
and new oil does not need to be added before start-up. CorrLube
cuts oil usage, minimizes hazardous disposal, and save labor. It
allows offline equipment to be quickly brought back online with
minimum start-up costs and delays.
Cortec® CorrLube
offers enhanced corrosion protection from heat and oxidation during
operation and its unique vapor phase action significantly boosting
corrosion protection during shutdown. While equipment is offline
and oil settles to the lowest gravity points in a system, Cortec®
vapor phase action releases corrosion protection into all surrounding
cavities, recesses, voids, gear boxes and lines. It forms a monomolecular
film that protects against internal oxidation and micro-corrosive
elements that were generated by the high pressure and heat during
equipment operation. During shutdown, the VpCI
inhibitors are self-replenishing to provide continuous protection
for up to one year.
CorrLube
is a premium quality, extreme pressure oil that effectively lubricates
all types of open and closed gear sets such as helical, herringbone,
spur, bevel and worm gears. It offers the corrosion protection required
by equipment that has periodic online and offline status found in
processing plants, power plants, refineries, mining, off-road equipment,
and industrial machinery. It is highly effectively in solving corrosive
attack to gear systems aggravated by humid conditions found in vegetable
and sugar beet/cane processing and marine applications.
As part of Cortec®'s new generation
of environmentally friendly products, CorrLube
is more than 50% biodegradable. CorrLube
meets or exceeds the requirements for Extreme Pressure Gear Oil
for US Steel, AGMA, and Cincinnati-Milicron.
