Corrosion on critical vehicle mechanics can lead to serious failures that could be alleviated by simple forethought and preventative action. This is especially important for vehicles parked long-term by the ocean or for cars, trucks, and fleets that get a regular dose of deicing salts splashing on vehicle underbodies in winter. Adding CorrLube™ VpCI® Lithium EP Grease to brake rotor bearings now is one simple way to inhibit vehicle corrosion down the road without going off the routine maintenance path.
CorrLube™ VpCI® Lithium EP Grease is an NLGI grade 2 lithium complex grease specifically formulated with superior corrosion inhibiting properties against saltwater, brine, H2S, HCl, and other corrosive agents. It is suitable for use during operation or layup and has high temperature stability up to 266 °F (130 °C). It makes seals more effective to keep contaminants out and provides lubrication for extended time frames.
When assembling or replacing brake rotors and wheel bearings, CorrLube™ VpCI® Lithium EP Grease can be packed into the inner and outer bearings or applied to the brake rotor spindle for dual lubrication and enhanced corrosion protection. It may also be added periodically when replacing old grease that has dried up or been contaminated. In addition to packing brake/wheel bearings, CorrLube™ VpCI® Lithium EP Grease can be used for lubrication and enhanced corrosion protection in many areas on vehicle chassis, bushings, lubricating sleeves, and other metal-to-metal or sliding high-friction components.
