VpCI®-143 Paper Emitters – A Quick Fix for the Small Spaces

April 15, 2021

Vpci 143 Paper - Cortec CorporationIt can be easy to focus on the big aspects of corrosion protection: How do we protect giant steel coils? Massive industrial equipment going into layup? The insides of large pipeline segments? Or large new boilers being shipped to a construction site? While these items are important to consider, it does not mean that the smallest spaces should be overlooked. That’s where one of Cortec’s tiniest emitters, the VpCI®-143 Paper Emitter, comes in handy— especially for large scale projects with many small parts!

VpCI®-143 Paper Emitters are 1x1 inch squares (6.45 cm²) of linerboard coated with Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors on two sides for fast vaporization as well as excellent contact protection. These small squares of paper protect up to 25 cubic inches (410 cm³ ) of void space. This makes them easy and economical to slip inside small packages containing metal parts, or even into tiny compartments within a larger metal component itself. There are many possible shipping and storage applications:

• Electrical and electronic components
• Finished products (engines, machinery, tools, instruments, motors)
• Castings, forgings, springs, bearings, fasteners
• And more!

As with other VpCI® Emitters, there is no need to remove the protective VpCI® molecular layer from the metals before further use. The molecules will simply evaporate when the enclosure is opened, leaving the surfaces clean and corrosion free.

VpCI®-143 Paper Emitters come in bags of one thousand pieces, making them a convenient and cost-effective solution for protection of small, mass-produced parts. Learn more about VpCI®-143 Paper Emitters here: https://www.cortecpackaging.com/product/vpci-143-paper-emitters/.
