LIFE 365
A powerful new tool has been developed to assist
engineers in evaluating corrosion control strategies. Professor
Mike Thomas at the University of Toronto lead this important effort.
Cortec has reviewed the Beta version of the service life model.
Preliminary results indicate MCI®-2005
can extend service life to 75 years for parking structures. The
final version is available online for further information click
here. The
Concrete Corrosion Inhibitors Association, is about to begin a test
program which will measure chloride diffusion and chloride threshold
values for concrete. This important collaborative work is needed
to develop input parameters for the service life prediction model.
Data is expected to be available in about 6 months time. For further
information contact Arnie Rosenberg at CCIA at 301-975-2421 or email
Arnie@nist.gov.
