Cortec Lights the Night

Walk raises money for cancer

On September 22, a team from Cortec "lit up the night" on the Light the Night Walk put on by the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. This charitable event raises money for blood-related cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkinõs disease and myeloma.

This year's walk took place in the Lake Phalen Region of St. Paul. The Cortec team, consisting of Sandra Johnson, Staci Midthun, Diane Biccha, Dean Santos, Leann Peterson, Tessa and Deb Heroff, raised funds to help research of these diseases.

Cortec hoped to help out a few members of the Cortec family by participating. Sue Santos, former employee and wife of long term employee Dean Santos, was diagnosed with cancer in late 1999. Also, Cortec employee, Dan Tarble, battled cancer last year and has been back to work!
