Reconnecting and Reenergizing at Spring ICRI 2024

This year’s Spring ICRI Convention was marked by valuable networking opportunities for our Cortec® MCI® team, who traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, for the April 21st-24th event. Attendance was great as contractors, consultants, and distributors from across the globe gathered in one place to discuss concrete repair technologies and techniques. The Cortec® team met many new and familiar faces from as far away as Australia and as near as the Boston/East Coast market. Kevin Quan, who is Cortec’s MCI® Regional Sales Manager for the East Coast, especially appreciated this chance to get face time with individuals from multiple markets in his region.
Besides hosting an MCI® booth, Cortec® played a major role at ICRI by sponsoring convention Wi-Fi and participating in four different committee meetings. Ash Hasania (MCI® Technical Sales & Market Manager) attended Committee 160 (Life Cycle and Sustainability) and Committee 510 (Corrosion) meetings, while Jessi Meyer (VP of Technical & Product Sales) took part in the Marketing and Fellows meetings. A special highlight in conjunction with the latter was the ICRI awards luncheon, where Jessi had the honor of presenting an ICRI Fellows award to MN ICRI Chapter member Marthe Brock, who mentored Jessi in her early days of ICRI involvement and has made significant contributions to the construction industry.
Other highlights of the week included learning and socializing. The MCI® team was able to increase their knowledge base through informative sessions such as “Concrete’s Salty Saga,” a presentation from Braun Intertec on concrete chloride testing methods. Cortec® also picked up a laboratory lead that may be helpful for future MCI® testing. Finally, some of our team enjoyed participating in ICRI social activities such as a tour of Fenway Park and a Boston Harbor boat cruise.
We are grateful for the chance we had to participate in this valuable gathering and look forward to reconnecting with many of our new and old colleagues in the future. Special thanks to those of you who took time to stop by our booth or chat with us throughout the course of the conference. We hope to see you again in Denver at the ICRI Fall Convention, if not before!
