About the Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining sales and profit objectives for Cortec products for the East Coast area that will be used in the concrete and masonry segments of the construction industry. This person must be able to build long-term client relationships with structural engineers, quality control professionals, construction project managers, and other related personnel through superior, professional communication, product knowledge and credibility, quality customer service, and adherence to a high standard of professional ethics.
Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed monthly sales and profit objectives.
- Develop business through new and existing accounts within the assigned territory.
- Develop relationships with Cortec representatives, distributors, civil, and structural engineers, RM suppliers, and other key contact groups.
- Focus on targeted product groups.
- Implement direct sales program at RM Suppliers, including equipment installs as required.
- Develop leads by using lead generation systems (such as DODGE, REED, ISQFT or similar for the construction industry).
- Assist with DOT submittals and QPLs.
- Establish and maintain quality customer relationships.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of project requirements.
- Respond professionally and quickly to customer calls.
- Resolve customer issues on a timely basis.
- Educate customers on new products.
- Carry out sales responsibilities.
- Meet call volume expectations.
- Make a sufficient number of customer visits.
- Attend appropriate trade shows, association events, and conferences.
- Participate on technical committees as appropriate.
- Track and update sales pipeline in CRM and monitor lead progression in CRM.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of competitive activities and communicate recommendations of initiatives in response to market conditions and trends.
- Communicate in an effective and professional manner with customers, vendors/distributors, and other Cortec locations and departments in a timely, professional manner.
- Deliver high-quality presentations to existing and potential customers.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment, which includes assisting other team members as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Secondary job accountabilities
- Assist with MCI promotion to major engineering/architectural firms within assigned territory.
- Stay current on industry trends, market changes, and competition’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide new product introduction ideas, pricing suggestions, and identification of markets.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to Vice President of Product Management and Technical Sales on product information, pricing, and any special or unique situations.
- Perform field testing as required.
- Perform additional sales responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Minimum Experience: Experience in a product support role, industrial sales, or technical is preferred. Background in mechanical engineering/support and experience reading and writing construction documents is helpful.

Pay range and compensation package
$85-100K/ year plus commissions DOE.
