Concrete Opportunities Abound at Fall ICRI Convention
November 28, 2024
The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) is a great place to connect with engineers, contractors, and suppliers in the construction industry. The Fall ICRI Convention, October 23rd-25th in Denver, Colorado, was no different as Jessi Meyer (Cortec® VP Technical Sales, Product Management, and Marketing), Ashraf Hasania (MCI® Technical Sales & Product Manager), and James Masterfield (MCI® Regional Sales Manager – Central US) attended seminars and case studies, celebrated project awards, and mingled with fellow experts ready to further the art of concrete repair.
Although MCI® is familiar to many, some ICRI attendees heard about it for the first time in Denver, including one engineer from Florida who immediately wanted to recommend the technology for an urgent need on her current project. Other suppliers were interested in either adding MCI® to their portfolio or recommending it alongside their own complementary building products—which Cortec® may be able to recommend, vice versa.
In addition to sponsoring the Wi-Fi, the Cortec® MCI® team contributed to the gathering by attending multiple committee meetings, including Committee 16 —Life Cycle and Sustainability, Committee 510— Corrosion, the Marketing Committee, and Women in ICRI. Of special note, Ashraf saw members of the Sustainability Committee take another step toward finalizing the new service life guide and discuss updates to the sustainability whitepaper that has already been around for more than a decade (Jessi collaborated on it 12-13 years ago). Out of curiosity, Ashraf also took in the Finance Committee meeting to learn more about how the organization runs behind the scenes. Business aside, James and Ashraf represented Cortec® on a fun member outing at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum!
The people at ICRI make an amazing network, so it was great to be back to learn, connect, and grow together. We look forward to seeing one another again at the Spring ICRI Convention, April 13th-16th in Austin, Texas, and at local chapter events between now and then. If you missed a chance to talk with our team at the booth, don’t hesitate to reach out with your questions or just to say “hi”!
