Green VCI Packaging Manufacturer: EcoCortec® is Becoming Europe’s Largest Anticorrosion Film Plant!

We are proud to announce the expansion of our EcoCortec® plant. EcoCortec® is a manufacturer of environmentally responsible VCI anticorrosion films and bags under the Cortec® brand. The plant, located in a green area of Croatia, is a European daughter company of Cortec® Corporation. Plant management is now investing in a new polymer processing plant that is located near the existing facility. The new investment will incorporate all the principles of the circular economy.
EcoCortec’s team is continuing its path of developing environmentally responsible corrosion protection films by utilizing the latest green manufacturing technologies. Plant management purchased a new 1000 m2 facility for polymer processing. This new plant with VpCI® masterbatch production and new reprocessing equipment for recycling of waste into new materials will open in November 2022. This will result in minimizing the disposal of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials and energy usage. This circular economy model reduces air and water pollution. The new facility will be divided in two production facilities with warehouses for raw materials and finished goods:
- Compounding and masterbatch production – with state-of-the-art, high-performance compounding extruder, designed for processing biopolymers on a world scale. This will support EcoCortec® in terms of sustainability and economic production.
- Regranulation facility – with its latest recycling line that will set new standards in recycling difficult-to-process materials such as heavily printed films and very moist material.
The company also recently purchased a new high-tech blown film extrusion line for production of patented biodegradable ESD films for the growing electric vehicle market. A new BOR (bag-on-roll making machine) was installed, which will expand capabilities and enable a wider assortment of products in more dimensions. EcoCortec® offers customers complete converting, extruding and printing capabilities. The plant’s anticorrosion packaging solutions provide the most reliable VCI film protection on the market today. Patented films, bags, and papers are used in countless industries and applications around the globe, giving users an easy and effective way to protect metal parts and equipment from corrosion. Environmentally responsible anti-corrosion films and bags are manufactured utilizing some of the most contemporary technologies available today. The company also develops and produces multiple green packaging options without corrosion inhibitors.
Located on a 10,000 square meter geographically strategic site in Central Eastern Europe, our plant can be reached by truck, railway, the river Danube, or air. EcoCortec® is positioned near the Hungarian border at the crossroads of state highways and is only 3 kilometers away from trans-European corridor C5.
