Compatibility of VpCI™-705 with Jet Fuel

Background:        GM Canada would like to use VpCI-705 to protect fuel tanks as an additive to Jet Fuel.

Purpose:                To determine if VpCI™-705 is compatible with JP-8 and DF-2 Jet Fuel.

Materials:             VpCI™-705

JP-8 and Pseudo JP-8

DF-2

Additives: Biobor JF (Biocide), Select 3 (Diesel Fuel Conditioner)

Method:                 Standardized Compatibility Test

Procedure:            The following solutions were mixed:

Sample Name Base Fuel VpCI-705 % Additives (% of each)
A
JP-8
0.12 0
B Pseudo JP-8 0.12 0
C DF-2 0.12 0
D DF-2 0.12 0.020
E DF-2 0 0.020

The solution was mixed thoroughly and placed inside a refrigerator for 8 hours.  The containers were then placed in an 80 °C oven for 16 hours.  The samples were inspected when moved, and this cycle was repeated three times.

Results:                 The following data was taken:
