CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #247: Restoration and Protection of Manufacturing Silos

March 13, 2026

Ch Spotlight 247 - Cortec Corporation Several silos at a manufacturing facility were beginning to show corrosion on the stainless steel bodies. Even worse, rust was starting to flake off the iron legs that supported the silos. The manufacturer decided it was time to apply some protective coatings. To prep the surface, workers sprayed the silos down with water and used a wire brush to remove loose rust. Once surface prep was complete, they applied VpCI®-374 Grey Primer.* After drying, this was followed by two coats of VpCI®-386 White on the bodies and two coats of VpCI®-386 Green on the legs, leaving the silos protected for the future with a clean, fresh appearance.
