Bionetix Highlights Enzyme Based Technology Web - Cortec Corporation

PAPERATORwas developed to address the ongoing challenge of paper overloads in drains, toilets, and septic systems by providing a bio-enzymatic solution that digests cellulose-based materials at the source. This blend of enzymes and beneficial microorganisms is a fresh, practical solution to help custodians and facility managers tackle routine restroom maintenance and paper clogging emergencies.

Fast Enzyme Action on Paper Products

Bionetix® Product Manager and microbial expert David S. Llano (M.Sc., Mcb. A) explained the importance of bio-enzymatic treatment: “PAPERATOR hydrolyzes cellulose fibers through enzymatic action and subsequently allows beneficial microorganisms to biodegrade the resulting organic material, addressing the problem at the source rather than mechanically pushing the clog further into the plumbing system.” PAPERATOR begins to break down toilet paper within 24 hours of application and has also shown beneficial digestive effects during toilet seat cover, paper towel, and cardboard testing—without the use of harsh chemicals.

Paper Clog Emergencies or Ongoing Maintenance

When paper clogs show up, PAPERATOR should be applied by dissolving one water-soluble pouch in lukewarm water and pouring the solution down the clogged drain or dropping a pouch directly in the affected toilet bowl. A progress check can be made by using the drain or flushing the toilet after giving PAPERATOR time to work, repeating treatment as appropriate. Flushing one PAPERATOR pouch down the toilet each month is also a great maintenance strategy for high-use environments that commonly face paper clogging challenges.

Avoid Out-of-Service Restroom Interruptions

In many facilities, paper towels, wipes, and napkins are too often flushed, leading to paper accumulation and plumbing disruptions. Maintaining PAPERATOR on hand for emergency treatment and routine digestion of paper buildup helps prevent overflows, service interruptions, and odor issues.
