Back in Person at OTC!
September 23, 2021
After more than a year of absence due to COVID precautions, it was great to be back in person once again
at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), August 16th-19th in Houston, Texas. Although attendance
was leaner than normal and we missed the presence of many big-name companies, we still had a number
of solid interactions with existing customers from around the world, including important representatives
of the Middle East oilfields, whom we look forward to helping with future preservation projects.
Tuesday was a special day as we welcomed our local representative Wiki Valves to the booth to address
the integral valves manufacturing and servicing aspect of the oil industry. It was a great way to connect
with local industrial players as Wiki Valves also hosted a meet and greet that evening with some of their manufacturing and industrial customers in the area.
OTC attendees expressed a high level of interest in Cortec’s biobased and eco technologies and also were attracted to learn more about the VpCI® Emitter Cups displayed at the booth. MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink Film and EcoShrink™ were the main topics of conversation when it came to packaging films—the one a longtime standby in oilfield equipment layup, the other an exciting new “green” film technology designed for commercial composting.*
It was great to meet both new contacts and friends from the past, and we look forward to ongoing work with both in the future!
