Building Concrete Connections in the ‘Big Easy’

Just a few weeks after attending a milestone AMPP convention in New Orleans, Cortec® found itself back in the “Big Easy” for five days at the ACI Concrete Convention, March 24th-28th, where Cortec® MCI® aptly served as a sponsor at the “Admixture” level.
Ash Hasania (MCI® Technical Sales & Market Manager), Jessi Meyer (VP of Technical and Product Sales), and Colin Gardner (Product Development Chemist) represented MCI® at this year’s spring convention, finding it (as always) a great place to network with thousands of people from the concrete and construction industries. Our team had the opportunity to talk with engineers and manufacturers, as well as professors and researchers from academia. In addition to the pleasure of seeing many familiar faces, we received a positive response from visitors new to the MCI® concept and interested in learning more.
Beyond networking, committee meetings are among the most important activities at ACI, where experts develop industry documents and guidelines used globally. With Jessi as a voting member of the ACI 212 Chemical Admixtures Committee and Ash as a consulting member, Cortec® made an important contribution to proceedings. The Cortec® team also attended meetings of ACI Committee 201 (Corrosion of Metals in Concrete), 202 (Protection of Metals in Concrete Against Corrosion), and 365 (Service Life Prediction), gathering committee updates and catching up on new technologies in concrete strengthening and chemical detection along the way.
We are grateful for the chance to be part of such a formative industry event and appreciate those who stopped to say “hi” and chat about current projects or questions.
