Cortec® Challenges the Status Quo of Closed Loop Treatment at AWT!

October 29, 2024

Awt

The Annual Convention for AWT (Association of Water Technologies) is a lot like a family reunion when Scott Bryan, Cortec’s Technical Sales Manager – Water Treatment, steps in the door. With over 25 years in the water treatment industry, Scott had the pleasure of seeing many familiar faces at the September 10th- 13th conference in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as meeting new employees at distribution companies that have worked with Cortec® for years.

While Scott was busy connecting with old and new friends and answering a barrage of technical questions, it was a great help to have Jessica Carpenter (Regional Sales Manager) at the booth for her first visit to AWT after more than 15 years at Cortec®. In addition to greeting booth visitors, Jessica was able to have an ongoing conversation with a new Cortec® distributor conveniently located across the aisle. Since many AWT attendees were only familiar with the Boiler Lizard®, Jessica was excited and thankful to have a full range of boiler animals like the Boiler Geckoand Boiler Dragonto introduce for protection of different boiler sizes. Jessica also enjoyed the great on-the-job training in water treatment she was able to receive just by overhearing Scott’s answers to technical questions at the booth.

Jessica wasn’t the only one whom Scott inspired at AWT. His Commercial Corner presentation was well-attended and extremely well received as he encouraged people to “Stop Saying: ‘That’s the way we’ve always done it’” and look into using VpCI® technology for closed loop treatment applications. Some of the data Scott shared was from an Xelera trial using Cortec® technology in a hospital closed loop system, and many attendees came away pleasantly surprised to learn about the success of an application they had previously thought was too expensive and not possible.

With so many exciting alternatives to traditional water treatments, Cortec® is not done challenging the status quo and inspiring the industry to explore better options for corrosion control. If you weren’t able to attend Scott’s presentation, don’t hesitate to contact him to learn more about these game changing solutions to corrosion!
