Cortec® Introduces VCI Films + ESD Protection to the Electronics Industry!

Cortec® VCI/VpCI® ESD Film Technology was welcomed for the first time to the Annual EOS/ESD Symposium and Exhibits September 19th-21st in Reno, Nevada. Mike Gabor (Cortec® VP of Sales, Eastern North America) introduced the concept to an interested audience of ESD managers and other ESD experts gathered to deliberate in-depth on ESD specifications and related technical issues.

Most people who stopped by Cortec’s booth during the symposium breaks were intrigued to hear about what was to them the new idea of ESD + VpCI® (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor) Technology. Although they may not have thought of seeking corrosion protection in their ESD films and bags, they could see the benefit of such packaging for dual corrosion/ESD protection of electronic components. For example, one ESD expert from a major computer company commented that many of their parts sit on shelves for years in India. Climate-controlled warehousing is expensive and difficult to find. Mike also came away with new ideas on how to grow in this market, both by broadening the ESD product line at Cortec® and working with a potential packaging distribution partner.
