Cortec® Shares Practical Recommendations at CAT Corrosion Conference – India

It was great to connect with CAT suppliers and engineers at the CAT 2023 Corrosion Engineering, Plating and Paint Conference, September 26th-27th in Bengaluru, India! Cortec® was one of a limited number of outside companies invited to participate in the event, which saw attendance levels similar to those at the CAT conference in Peoria, Illinois, that inspired it last May.
PK Mathew (Cortec® India) shared a Cortec® introduction, while Bob Dessauer (Cortec® Regional Sales Manager, Midwestern U.S.) gave a presentation entitled, “Practical Recommendations for 1E Approved Products for Corrosion Control.” During this 30-minute main stage presentation, Bob championed CAT’s 1E specs and shared insight on weldable products and rust preventatives that can be used on bolted joints without compromising torque. This technical talk prompted much discussion and also introduced CAT suppliers and corrosion engineers to a variety of products (including several Cortec® rust preventatives) that fall into one or more of these categories. Information like this is important to users in India because it will enable them to take advantage of the same performance and EHS benefits CAT suppliers have access to in the U.S.
The trip to India also gave Bob the opportunity to tour one of the local CAT engine plants, where he was able to discuss a possible engine testing rust preventative upgrade that has shown improved performance and cost savings at a plant in the U.S. As always, it was great to spend time with PK, who has been an excellent representative of Cortec® in India for so many decades and who, with his distributors, will continue to be an invaluable resource for further questions that may arise from those who attended the conference.
