Easy Corrosion Protection
With the right packaging materials, keeping incoming parts and equipment clean and ready for immediate installation is not difficult. Cortec® VpCI® films such as VpCI®-126 HP UV Shrink Film or heavier duty MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink Film are perfect for external packaging. Not only do they provide a barrier to wind, rain, and salt spray; they also contain Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors that form a protective molecular layer on metal surfaces inside the package. For extra insurance against corrosion in harsh offshore conditions, it is a good idea to add an additional source of Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors, such as a Cor-Pak® 8-MUL Pouch, a VpCI®-308 Pouch, or BioPad®, to the package. When workers remove the packaging, the corrosion inhibitors simply evaporate, and the part is ready to install—no degreasing required!
