Raising Industrial Awareness of Cortec® VpCI® Inhibitor Technology in Peru

It was an honor for Cortec® to join the Energia Integral Andina Sucursal del Perú (EIA Peru) sales team November 18th-19th at the 22nd Peruvian Maintenance Engineering Congress and EXPOMANT trade show, both organized by IPEMAN (the Peruvian Maintenance Institute). EXPOMANT is the most important maintenance event in the region. Its main goal is to provide maintenance solutions and services to all industrial segments, including mining, oil and gas, maritime, and armed forces.

As an expo sponsor, EIA Peru had the privilege of participating in two presentations at the Maintenance Engineering Congress. One of these was a technical presentation by Cortec® VP of International Sales, Dario Dell’Orto, highlighting three case histories on VpCI® corrosion inhibitor applications in Peru, Italy, and Chile. His story of how MODASA, a leading Peruvian manufacturer of electro generators and buses, used CorroLogic® VpCI®-339 Fogging Fluid to protect electro generator diesel tanks during assembly and storage was particularly well received as a novel solution and alternative to the traditional, but less dependable method of filling tanks with diesel fuel for long-term protection. The other presentation, given by EIA Sales Specialist Brajhan Colqui, focused on commercial and technical activities by EIA Peru in different industrial sectors of the Peruvian market. Another highlight of the conference was an interview with Dario Dell’Orto by the Director of IPEMAN (who organized the congress) and an interview of EIA Sales Specialist Alexander Hermoza for local TV.

Remarkably, the EIA Peru booth was the only one focused on bringing the corrosion inhibitor technology message to the numerous trade show attendees at EXPOMANT. The fact that all booth visitors requested a visit by the EIA Peru sales team to their plants/offices underscored the audience’s relative unfamiliarity with and growing interest in VpCI® inhibitors.
