CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #56: Steel Coil Protection

A sheet steel company shipping its products around the world was having significant corrosion problems from condensation and salt air on steel coils passing through the tropics. They needed a packaging solution that met their protection and recycling needs and decided to use two layers of Cor-Pak® VpCI® Stretch Film to wrap the steel coils. Plastic strips were used for edge protection, and the package was completed with two layers of regular stretch film to protect the Cor-Pak® VpCI® Stretch Film from handling damage. Subsequent savings on corrosion claims were significant, and the company decided to switch over to this packaging method at two of its large production plants.
