During COVID, a major oil and gas company wanted to preserve a pick-up chain and hang-off chain from a FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) unit going into layup. The chains were extremely corroded and needed to be cleaned first. To simplify cleaning, they decided to dip the chains in MCI^® Super Remover (diluted) and remove any remaining corrosion with VpCI^®-423. The chains were subsequently neutralized with a solution of VpCI^®-416 and protected with CorShield^® VpCI^®-369, leaving the customer very satisfied with the brilliant cleaning method that did not require special cleaning tools.
