CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #710: Preservation of Water Injection Skids

February 26, 2025

Injection Skids - Cortec Corporation

An oil company in Southeast Asia had to wait more than six months to install water injection skids on their main offshore platform. In the meantime, the corrosion risk was high, as the skids had to be stored outdoors in a rainy, humid tropical climate near a river and the ocean. Cortec’s representative solved the problem by preserving the skids in the following manner.

After washing surfaces with VpCI®-418 LM and coating them with VpCI®-389, the team protected electronics with VpCI®-101 Devices and VpCI®-105/111 Emitters and shrink-wrapped each skid in VpCI®-126 HP UV Shrink Film. After more than six months of outdoor storage, the skids were received without complaints, and the client was satisfied with a Cortec® solution that surpassed expectations.
