CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #154: Hydrotesting of Metering Skid Pipework
April 04, 2022
A manufacturer of metering skids for the offshore oil and gas industry needed to hydrotest pipework after mounting and before shipping. The skids faced the possibility of several months of storage onsite prior to use and were subject to strict internal piping cleanliness and corrosion-free requirements. VpCI®-641 was therefore added to the hydrotest water (which was stored after use for future hydrotesting), and VpCI®-609 was fogged into the metering stations and the openings capped. The VpCI®-609 was later flushed with water or left in place if not detrimental to operation. The products showed superior performance and were chosen for their ease of use, effectiveness, and low environmental impact.
