How CorroLogic^® Works

CorroLogic^® for ASTs comes in two main forms: CorroLogic^® Powder and CorroLogic^® Slurry. Each works as a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor. When applied beneath the tank bottom, these technologies release corrosion inhibiting vapors that diffuse throughout the sand pad and form a protective molecular layer on the metal surface of the tank.

When to Apply CorroLogic^®

This vapor-phase action allows CorroLogic^® to be applied at any phase of a tank’s service life—during construction, while in service, and after being taken out of service. CorroLogic^® can be injected underneath the tank without having to empty or raise the structure. The Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors simply travel throughout the hard-to-reach space and apply themselves by adsorption.

CorroLogic^® and ICCP

Prior to CorroLogic^® Technology, impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) was the main option for tank bottom protection. However, this did not provide protection during power outages or in areas of the tank bottom not in contact with the sand pad carrying the ICCP current. In contrast, CorroLogic^® can be used alone or in conjunction with ICCP to provide protection in difficult-to-reach areas with or without a power supply.
