CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #175: Plow/Salt Truck Preservation
October 04, 2023
A township wanted to arrest the corrosion that had already started on a one-year-old plow/salt truck and help the vehicle last as long as possible. They pressure-washed the truck with VpCI®-415 in preparation for product application. They then placed VpCI®-105 Emitters under the dashboard to protect electrical components and sprayed ElectriCorr™ VpCI®-239 on all external electrical contacts. VpCI®-369 was used on moving parts and door hinges. Visible rusty surfaces were passivated with CorrVerter® Rust Converter Primer, the undercarriage was coated with VpCI®-368 D, and the box of the salt truck was coated with VpCI®-396. The preservation system required minimal labor to apply and was much less expensive than other options, leaving the vehicle with a longer service life for greater dependability.
