CASE HISTORY SPOTLIGHT: Case History #485: Preservation of Heat Exchange Equipment in Transit
May 16, 2022
Heat exchange equipment was expected to undergo aggressive conditions en route from Eurasia to Ecuador via truck, rail, and maritime transport. Corrosion was a serious concern. The client applied VpCI®-377 to all metal surfaces for protection against hydrotesting corrosion, then placed sheets of VpCI®-137 Foam on the piping and finally completely covered the boiler equipment in VpCI®-126 Shrink Film. The symbiosis of VpCI®-137 Foam and VpCI®-126 Shrink Film provided excellent protection during transit, leaving no sign of corrosion inside or
outside of the equipment at the time of use.
